I have no idea Gordon. I'm not officially at that post yet!

Pool sessions as always will be open to non-members as well.

Kev,

I am assuming that you will be needing the Club trailer for the pool session.

I was thinking of coming to the pool session, and collecting the trailer on Sunday to bring back to Devon. If I came up for the pool session (I could meet you at the Club and tow the trailer to Durrington), and could take it back to the Club to empty it before taking it back to Devon. Would that work? If so, what time at the Club on Sunday?

You could do, or you can collect it after?
I think it would need sorting out from about 11. We need to get it there in time to put foam on the ends etc.

Additional pool session information:

Salisbury Canoe Club Pool Sessions,  Durrington Leisure Centre, 12-2pm.

 Session 1:  12:00-1:00pm
 Session 2: 1:00-2:00pm

Sunday 21st October
 Open pool session, rolling etc
 Polo

Sunday 11th November
 Open pool session, rolling etc
 Rescues

Sunday 25th November
 Open pool session, rolling etc
 Polo? TBC

Sunday 9th December
 Open pool session, rolling etc
Polo Match v Frome CC  TBC

Further sessions will be booked after Christmas once we have gauged demand.

Come along and practise in a nice warm pool!
The first hour, 12-1pm  will be for individual practise, capsize, rolling etc  and there will be coaches on hand to work with individuals.

We are allowed 10 boats on the water at any one time so please be considerate and make sure that everyone gets a reasonable amount of time on the water.

If you are bringing your own boat please make sure that it is ‘jet wash’ clean inside and out. Dirty boats won’t be allowed on the water. If you could come and help clean the club boats we would be really pleased to see you at 11am Saturday 20th October at the club house.

Durrington  is a different design of pool to Five Rivers which we used for previous pool sessions, because the water level is well below the edge of the poolside if you were to knock into the exposed wall you could significantly damage the pool. Therefore unlike last year, all boats used in the pool need to be padded on the stern and bow. Old karrimat and duck tape would do nicely.

The second hour is going to be used for a variety of different activities, including Polo and rescue practise.

On Sunday 21st, 1-2pm we are going to be playing five- a -side polo games and we will try to make sure everyone gets turns in games to suit their ability which will include some ‘no pushing in’ games as well as the full games for those who dare! It’s brilliant fun and a great work out, so why not give it a go? We have provisionally got friendly youth, ladies and open matches pencilled in against Frome Canoe Club on Sunday 9th December, so no pressure!

Charges :           Members: One session, £6       Two session discount, £10
Non- members: One session, £7       Two session discount, £12

We really need someone to collect the money on the door and free up the coaches to organise the session, please let us know if you could help.
Please arrive about 11:40 to help unload the trailer and take the boats around to the pool door at the rear of the building. This should also give us time to get changed and be on the water at 12:00

I still have the trailer in Devon, but plan to bring it up on Sunday (11 Nov) morning - arriving at the Club House at about  11.00am.

Can somebody be there to load boats and kit?

I'm working nights, so want as much time in bd before the pool session as I can get. I'm happy to leave the keys at work if you want to collect them from there. Maybe someone could help your load the boats. Mark w can you help?

I have spent the afternoon fixing the trailer so will be coming up from Devon tomorrow morning. It will be an early start for me to get there at 11am in time to load up boats and kit, so I would be grateful if somebody with keys could meet me at the club (having collected the keys from Marks work if necessary).

See you tomorrow.

Nigel
