Travelling arrangements and times will be arranged later in the week.

Having spoken to Pete on Saturday, we will probably all meet at the Salisbury clubhouse very early in the morning on Sunday and sort who goes in what then.

The weather forecast does not predict any more rain between now and Sunday on Dartmoor. The water may be a bit low by then but it should be good for those new to white water.

Cold though.

What should I wear under my new dry suit? I have a fleece romper suit. Is that enough or should I wear more? I don't want to be hot, or too cold.

I would wear atleast one more layer, and carry another in a drybag. If waiting for shuttles its helpfull. Yes forecast is looking naff but the moor is very wet so levels wont get too low.

Plan is everyone to meet at SCC HQ (clubhouse) at 7am sunday 13th. We will then load up cars and head on to get to newbridge by 10 via a breakfast somewhere (honiton little chef?).

Thanks for advice on the dress code ;D ;D

I will see you all at the Clubhouse at 7am. How many have we got going? I am happy to drive (although I might have already been down there on Saturday house hunting albeit on my motorbike!).

No offence Mark, but your Corsa may not be the best for a full load of kayaks, kit and people!

I am really looking foreward to it.

Great, I will see you at 7.

Nigel I am still happy to drive, I have never had a Corsa nor have been seen dead in one!   :o

I was going to bring a Vw Transporter, not certain whether I will be able to squeeze 4 boats in though.
We can see on Sunday!!

Mark C - there still may be time to edit your post before Mark W takes offence - I won't tell him if you don't ;)

If we can't get all the boats in your VW, I will have room for them on my roofrack as I have uprights fitted. If our brains can work at such an ungodly hour on Sunday, we will work it out then. ???

Im guessing you've 'pimped out' the back of your van, otherwise we could get all 7 boats in? Though the longer boats may struggle if its a SWB.

Yes nigel, i'll have a coffee before i arrive so im switched on for strapping!

I wish it was pimped!!!
It is my grandfather in laws and has a wheel chair ramp in the back. Not looking so cool now!! Although the tinted windows are ok!!

It will probably get quite a few boats in though. I think even the length should be ok.

I meant no offence to mark and I will take no offence when he laughs at me swimming without any fancy dry suits!!! That northern image is slipping further  ;D

I am sure that you meant that you don't like pimped vehicles, and as many Corsas are pimped, you would not want to be seen dead in a flash, pimped Corsa with big exhausts, tinted windows and a boombox in the back parcel shelf. You would be happy in Mark W's because it is not in the slightest bit pimped, almost to the point where it does not have enough paint on it to polish! It is cool to be inversely trendy!

Am I saving the situation or making it worse?

Well, to change the subject, here is an email from Chris...

"Hi Nigel

Still not got access to the SCC forum so just wanted to let someone know that I'm still on for the trip on Sunday (I'm assuming that the Chris on the forum list is me!)

I'll be in my van on Sunday could possibly get two boats on roof and one inside but It's not too economical!!!

Cheers

Chris (Green)"
