I've asked the question as to how long the work goes on for - will advise. There was an option earlier this year that, by prior arrangement, paddlers could be escorted across the field - I'll see if this is still available. ???

Went to the playing fields today &  spoke to one of the contractors.
The fences should be down in the next week or two when normal access to the bank should be resumed.
As far as we could see it shouldn't make any difference to us - there is now a 3ft earthwork to contain the river, alongside the back of the football pitch, to walk over - but they haven't touched our usual get-on area which is far enough away from the new pond area (near where the river forks right to the back of the mill).
All work is scheduled to be complete end Jan.  :)

The river wasn't worth paddling yesterday anyway, you could hardly see the arches of the old mill it was that high!
