Gordons boat up for rent.... that may just about see-saw me into a yes. What size decks are they? Im assuming keyhole... Not so good as i only own big deck or slalom deck!

I dont mind the speed, its the long drag... 1 i'd hate to get bored of rocks and salt water and 2 i want a relaxing weekend before we hit the alps! I've looked at the map, 11 mile round trip kimmeridge - lulworth and back im sure that could be done in 3 hours? + half hour for lunch at lulworth? Or just wait till back at kimmeridge!

As for transport ... 4 boats coming from the north .. i'll let your organisation skill work that bit out Gordon!

Hear what you're saying Kev, but with a mixed group & lots to see, if we launch by 11, I'd be surprised if we returned by 3:30/4, and to quote Nick RCC "Those who paddle in haste, are missing the point"

This trip is weather dependant, we may change to Ringstead/Lulworth if the wind increases, its a friendlier coast(more get out's), and well known by Nigel & I

I am up for the trip but I only have a big deck spraydeck that fits my G3 and Fusion!

All of the boats are big decks, so don't worry.

I am happy to drive, so if Gordon drives, we have enough transport for 6.

Why don't we all just meet at the clubhouse at 08.50? I will bring Atlantis and Scorpio, Gordon will bring Rainbow Laser. We could then meet Dave at clubhouse, or on the the way to Bournemouth Canoes at his house.

All to bring big deck spray decks, bouyancy aids and normal paddles, usual paddling kit, sun hats, sun cream, sandwiches in a waterproof container, and plenty of water/squash which can be drunk on the water. I have found that the perfect bottles to put squash etc in are Fanta 500ml bottles as they fit under sea kayak bungy  deck lines very well.

It might also be worth packing an extra layer in case it gets cold. Remember, a sea kayak has lots of storage so don't worry about packing too much.

I repeat the importance of a sun hat and liquid - a couple of weeks ago we needed a lifeboat to collect somebody who got sun stroke off the Needles.

I will be joining you.  I'd better get my kit sorted.  Gordon, what is your preference for picking me up - House or Club?

Cheers
Mark
