Nene
« on: May 17, 2010, 10:07:53 PM »
After this weekends trip to the Tryweryn I wouldn't mind following up with a trip to Nene.  Anyone up for it?
Dates I can make are: 3rd, 4th, 10th July.  8th, 15th August.  5th, 19th September.  Cheers Mark

I could be tempted  at some point, but at the moment, a lot could happen before these dates.

Now that you have a 3*, they will allow you on without a coach - they don't ask whether it is white water or not!

Even without the 3 star, they are not too concerned - they just ask you to tell them what riversn you have paddled. The lower Tryweryn will tick the box as will the Dart Loop, or just make up a Welsh sounding name - they will not doubt you are paying them.

ANYONE ATTENDING THE NENE - TAKE YOUR BCU CARD (If you are a member) - YOU GET A DISCOUNT ;D ;D ;D

Although no big drops, a cheaper way to practice basic WW skills might be to go to Symonds Yat for a day trip. I have not seen it low, but it sounds as though it would be ideal for practicing basic break ins / outs, ferrygliding and small wave surfing. And access is free year round.

Nigel I would be up for a trip there. Just need a bit of notice to get the time off work.
