Sat after 11, I'd rather do a sea trip Sat, boats can be tested when the weather is poor. Ive just noticed a RCC trip Sandbanks - Old Harry, so that's Sun taken care of. Sat is boat testing if no other options arise (Ringstead - Warbarrow Bay Nigel?)

I would be only able to do one of the days.

I must say that I feel that we have done Old Harry to death recently. Unless the tide is exactly right, it is hard to paddle through the caves.

I would rather do Ringstead - Warbarrow on Saturday, as it is a more interesting coastline with caves. I have not seen tide times or the weather. I don't fancy another climb up the cliffs.

Kev, I still have my old sea kayak if you want to join us.

All, currently the weather this weekend is ideal sea kayaking weather F2 or below wind(light breeze) and sunny 17 deg, not bad for this time of year. We are in between spring & neaps the tidal flow is predominately west flowing, doesn't change direction till 5pm ish so launch Ringstead 10 am Sharpe (ha ha), lunch far end Worbarrow Bay, set off back 1 ish, off water 3:30 - 4. The weather conditions Sat will be ideal for a gentle, no drama paddle.

Gordon,

I have a problem with an early start on Saturday - I need to pick up a package from the local post office, and it does not open until 0900, so I would not be able to leave my house until say 09.10, to arrive at your house at 09.35. I doubt whether we would be on the water until 11.00 so the whole day would slip.

OK?

Nigel

We must try for an early start sometime, tomorrow is obviously not the day, I'll see you when you turn up, I think its my turn with the car (Kev/anyone else, fancy a paddle in Nigel's boat, its a real goer) it will be a good day out in the sunshine, don't forget sunglasses & lotion.

If anyone does fancy a trip in my spare boat, post here before 08.30 tomorrow morning or send me an email before then and I will load it on the car.

A shame as you would enjoy it.

We usually go on a Sunday - perhaps you could join us another day.

Well, as Nigel had a few early morning tasks we eventually set off at 10:10 (the Sharpe eyed may notice a 1:40 delay on the original plan) We launched at 12:10 into a fresh breeze, heading towards Lulworth on a gently moving sea. The wind was probably F2/3 and made the leg down to Lulworth a reasonable push against the tide and wind, lunch at lulworth included the almost mandatory ice cream & flake as desert. We shortened the trip in an attempt not to strain my shoulder and set off for ringstead with a weak tide & the wind behind, wind and tide in the same direction tends to make the sea irregular (lollopy according to Nigel) the return journey took 20 mins less than the outgoing landing as planned at 3:25. As a gesture of marital harmony on return I offered to take Julie out for a day trip on  Sunday, you can imagine my deep disappointment when she declined, as she was looking after my grandson, and told me I had to go paddle Sandbanks - old harry instead, oh dear I'll have to do the same tomorrow.  ;D ;D ;D

I can't as I have far too much to do at home :'( :'( :'(

It was a good day today though - although my arms may have caught the sun too much - I will find out when I have a bath to wash the salt off.

The instructions for my new boat say that I should swill off the skeg mechanism with fresh water and then lubricate with furniture polish. I am embarrased to say that I don't own any furniture polish :-[ so I am off down the shop now...
