I don't suppose anyone is paddling anywhere on Bank Holiday Monday???
Tom and I may have a pass for the day. If someone is going to Cardiff on that day he could watch from the sides!!

Chris:
There is a section in the middle of the course but i dont know about access to it, it maybe for safety cover only. There is a sheltered balcony in the centre building you can see 90% of the course from.

Other option is to all paddle, and take it in turns to sit in the bottom pool looking after the kids. There is a small charge but you may be able to blag paying only once for the open canadian? The pool at the bottom is only about 4ft deep and is seperated from the river by steel shutering (you cant float away).

Edit: "Flat water Park and Play is available at £4 pp" - http://www.ciww.com/kayaking-park-and-play/

I would recommend just calling the centre and seeing if it meets your requirements, they would know alot more than i do!

I would prefer to be picked up en route at Market Lavington. Thanks.

If you need to get a 5th boat on a car and it does not fit on the roofrack, let me know as we could use my motorbike trailer to put a couple of boats on. It will mean extra tolls though on the bridge.

I'll be at the AGM Tuesday, and should be up for a trip next Sunday if anythings happening

There is a Ringwood Sea trip on Sunday 9th May around Portland Bill leaving Chesil Cove at 1pm so not too early. I have put my name down for it. Contact Graham B.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for that, I had a similar thought after looking at the web site today. Having just talked to Helen, she is keen on this plan, however to get sufficient boats there (Emily doesn't fancy the canadian and Helen wont paddle my little yellow boat, she wants her Dancer!) we would need to borrow a dynamo and a couple of sets of paddles from the club.

Is this possible to borrow the gear and can we fit picking it up with the travel plans?

Cheers

Chris

There will be people at the clubhouse saturday doing the finishing touches to the clubroom/throwing out junk from the changing rooms. Other than that i dont think a key holder will be available. Ian/Chris B will be the ones to contact. I'll PM (private message) you Ians number.

What transport and how many boats are you taking Chris? Tom R wants to go but needs transport. If you dont have space then maybe we should shuffle about and add another car into the journey?

Edit:

I dont mind driving to add an extra car but i wont want to be coming back to Salisbury. I may be able to stretch to Nigel's house and do a pick up there? Or if people can get to trowbridge and leave cars there, maybe at the train station car park? Or Bradford-on-avon station car park looked large and safe!?

Let me know your thoughts!

If we come as a family then there will be 4 of us, plus 4 boats. Rang Cardiff and they were happy with the arrangement of having the kids on the flat and taking turns to look after them. However I haven't managed to get hold of Ian yet to see if I can get a boat.

Not sure if I can get 5 boats on our roof, but the dynamo (if i can get hold of one) and the stunt bat are not very deep so it may be a possibility. Really need to see if I can get into the club house - what boat would Tom want to take?

Most likely the clubs method. It's short but fairly chunky, playboat shapeish.

I've let Ian know that you want to contact him and he's acknowledged that so hopefully you'll be in luck soon, let me know if you still have issues.

The offer of my motorbike trailer is still on the table if we need to get an extra boat plus Tom there. It makes more sense than the extra cost of another car.

I'll let you guys sort out arragements this morning then. We may need to make an earlier start to accomidate the changes.

Parking for a trailer may be an issue nigel e.g. its unlikely you will be able to park and leave the trailer hitched. Their car park is very small and over flows by mid-day!!

hi guys, hope you all have great time tomorrow at Cardiff. Unfortunately with a collar bone now in three distinct pieces I think it's probably best not to paddle tomorrow, or unfortunately on the tryweryn w/e :'(

Kayaking is clearly much safer than mountainbiking!!

Cheers
