I would have liked to, but kayaking is off the agenda as my brother is coming down from Yorkshire to rebuild my wall this weekend.

Having looked at the video, I have not changed my view - when I fall out at the top, I will be in for a swim to the bottom - perhaps I could get in on the lift back up to the top ;D

Hmm.. tame is not the word i will continue to use for this venue, more like lively! No grabby stoppers but fast waves, very fast powerfull water, shallow and lots of water surging in all sorts of directions! Good day had by me and pete, 2hrs of playing hard! Cant wait to go back.

Oh did i mention that atleast two slalom boats got damaged (one was virtually in two halves) paddles got broke and there where lots of swimmers! .. after all the carnage we had the course nearly to our selves and the rafts. Dont be put off though, there is a huge pool where you, boat and paddle will become one again before getting back on the conveyer belt to the top for your next run!

Sounds frightening - but then so is the Tryweryn to me - so I will still up for a trip now that my wall is fixed.

You'd be fine blasting through the centre with river runners, just gets a bit wobbly in the eddies especially in a short flat bottomed boat!  ;D

Running at 8-9 cummecs it is similar to the tryweryn, just has a more constant shallow where as the tryweryn does occasionally get a lil deeper

I will have to think about this.

I was planning to take the week off and visit my parents in Yorkshire, but returning in time for the Ringwood Portland Bill trip on Sunday 9th May.

Maybe I could delay leaving until Monday, but I was hoping not to have to travel on the Bank Holiday.

I will speak tomorrow.

Gordon if all is going to plan, can you talk to pete sat (he's been nominated as driver i see) if he stops by your house at 9ish (will nigel be at your house too?), then he can swing by trowbridge at about 9:45-10ish. Im assuming he'll be wired so i'll sort out a postcode later today and email that to you.... I think he'll need yours aswell?

Hi all

Not quite sure from the posts how many are going, is there room for another? (might have persuaded Helen to let me go. I think if we had got someone to look after the kids she would have come too!) Kevin- what are the spectator facilities like would it be safe/easy for me and Helen to take turns looking after the kids whilst the other paddled? Is there anything else kid friendly nearby?

Cheers

Chris
