If it is a day trip, I can do Saturday at a push.

Easy if it Dartmoor. ;D

If Cardiff, I would still be up for a paddle there.

I can't do Sunday.

Yep, I can do Saturday and Sunday, so either day is fine and as long as I am paddling I don't mind where - as long as it's within my capability!

It has rained solidly all day on Dartmoor, but apart from a few heavy showers, it is due to brighten up later in the week.

I see that the access agreement on the Dart loop does not start until 1 Oct.

The Teign does not show much water on the webcam, but the Tavy is up.

The weather is just clearing, and I quite fancy a roundabout trip home over Dartmoor, so I may just have a ride out to see what the water is like.

Update - the rivers on Dartmoor are hammering down. Dart is over the ledge, and just short of flowing though the third arch. Tavy looks fun.

The weather is drying up though.

Awsome. Met check is currently showing 35mm forcast for first thing sat morning, so maybe a middle tavy in the morning and a walkham/tavy or lower tavy run in the afternoon. Or if the rain comes early hit up the upper/loop of the dart.

Last i heard the Dart agreement had been binned and the rule is if its 4 inches or so below the ledge or higher, get on and enjoy!  ;D

RDCP suggest no summer paddling but we would not expect to be on their land, parley using public access.

The Tavy / Walkham options sound good on Saturday.

I am not so sure that the Duchy of Cornwall think that the Dart agreement is binned, and they own most of the area. I saw paddlers doing the loop yesterday, and probably nobody will enforce it. However, I am in a difficult position as I work closely with the Duchy over Military training on Dartmoor. If I were to be found paddling the Dart when they thought that it was not permitted, I would be extremely embarrassed :-[ :-[

I will not therefore be paddling the Dart personally at this time of year.

If people want to make a weekend out of it, I have a spare bed and floorspace for half a douzen people of so, but I will not be able to make Sunday paddling as we have an open day to the public at Okehampton Camp.

Looks like Cardiff sat it is, more details to follow....

Edit..

Ok, pumps are on at 11 saturday so i would suggest a 9am meet at the club sat morning. The pumps will be running at 8 cumecs, so i will only paddle with people who have a working white water roll.

Also i dont plan on stopping for breakfast, the motorway services dont have a clue how to cook!

Let me know who wants to tag along!

Kevin,

I would love to come along as well if that's okay, can roll but its not "bombers" yet. Would meet you there for 11am if thats okay rather than travel to the club (which a 1hr round trip for me).

Can also offer a lift for anyone in the Bulford area!

Just need to check that it is Cardiff International White Water Centre that your going to ie. www.ciww.com so that I end up at the right place  ???

Cheers

I will not be coming up, as I am now with Exeter Canoe Club surfing at Saunton on Saturday. Have fun!
