I need a babysitter!!!!!!!!!

Didn't you prove that on Saturday?
I don't have any stars - I started paddling before the star system came in. I had been paddling for a couple of years when I first went to the Tryweryn to watch the world championship slalom and white water racing. The thing that really makes me feel old is that the Youtube footage is in black and white.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGY5yTCWwsE&feature=relatedI am convinced that the international course at the top was more "natural" with fewer large stones moved around. Having said that, I am also convinced that the features are bigger now. I can remember that the "gaveyard" was known as a destroyer of fibreglass boats, and during the competitions, rescue divers were positioned at Miss Davis' Bridge, and Chapel Falls. The bridge over what is now the NRA wave (then known as the "Haystack") was built of scaffolding. I am also convinced that the campsite was a lot rougher than it is now. I remember it was based on cobbles and it was impossible to get a tent peg in. And it was wet - see 6.20 on the second video. Another thing to make me feel old - no dome tents - all old ridge tents (I still own the tent I used then).
Kev - I mentioned the chicken shute on Bala Mill Falls - you can see it at 3.55 on the first of the videos.
Right, I will pack in reminiscining now, - Thank God, I don't remember the war as I would have started telling war stories.
