From memory your busy tomorrow nigel? We've scrapped plans due to masive levels. Anyone interested in a spate tavy/walkham/dart loop run?

Levels dropped nicely. Sunshine ledge level run down the upper, super!
How was your salty paddle?

Ah, 20th feb, possibly, if no water in dartmoor (CSCC), if this weekend's cancelled, pool session, & join Nigel & Dave at Ringstead, any idea of levels this weekend?

Can we tie down dates?

At yesterday's pool session, Dave was talking about the first week in June.

If it is, it may clash with the Treweryn trip, in which case that may need changing.

My work diary is filling up so the quicker the descision, the better for me.

Does it need to be a certain date for accommodation/travel? Or can we choose? Sat-Sat? 12th - 19th? Anyone know if Pete has tracked down that accommodation?

Kev

There needs to be a discussion about who organises this (too many cooks), I think Pete had ideas on this, I'll take the Tryweryn weekend into May 22/23, if no release but water, the Dee may be an alternate option. Your suggestion of 12 - 19 th Jun works for me (Pete was indicating then).

Pete was going to let me know the area we will be staying so we can both research options to discuss when we meet,It's out of season in the Alps so there's lots of choice, the date needs sorting so we can all books leave, keep the week free etc..my diary fills with cr*p quickly!!Tryweryn weekend  May 22/23 is good for me,12 - 19 th Jun works for me too  ;D

22-23rd may not good for me, but im really not fussed about going there that soon before the alps. I am free the weekend before if you want the extra people for boat catching  :P 15th-16th currently planned as a nene trip, again to lots of traveling close together.

Pete Emailed me the details below on 2 places he's stayed,we will be staying in the same area,I plan to  do a bit of research on accommodation to bring to the meeting, If anyone else finds anything of interest bring it along! ;D

the campsite is Camping Les Ecrins, i found it on Google Maps, you can see how close the slalom site is, + contact details:

Camping Les Ecrins
Avenue de la Pierre Sainte
05120 L'Argentière-la-Bessée, France
04 92 23 03 38
camping-les-ecrins.com

close to Briancon in the French Alps

Accommodation:- the Moulin Papillon in Argentiere, a very short drive from the slalom site. http://www.moulin-papillon.com/

live feed from the slalom site:- http://www.paysdesecrins.com/ecrins2006/en/index.shtml (looks cold)

Distance 800mils and about 13hrs, but no stops! - think this would be about £220 in fuel (this not including all driving around during the week), need to add Toll Fees (Toll fee for Italy was £230, so will be less than this).
I will get river guides during this week, and if we want to arrange a meeting in a pub to discuss some more.

Pete

OK

I've just booked a week 12 - 19 June(Alps), and 28Jun-3Jul (Hols), there is flexibility in the system, however Mrs A will want her summer hols about that time.

cheers Gordon
